|Definition of Scramble Process
Scramble Process is the fundamental element of play methods of Scrammble Games. Scrambe process, simply put, is constantly and dynamically scramble alphabets to make new words in word games. Naturally words are made longer and longer. The scoring of word points require exercising strategic placement of vowels and mathematic operations. Based on this 'scramble process', many Scrammble Games are invented. The games including Scrammble word, Scrammble Bingo, Scrammble Poker, Scrammble Majong, Scrammble Puzzle, Scrammble War ... etc. are exciting, educational and entertaining, requiring players to pay 100% attention to the games - that is all the players are focusing on scramble process all the time.
Scrammble Games are part of the game series called Headutainment Games (from the words: health, education and entertainment) because its benefits in Health, Education and Entertainment..
|Fun and Challenge of Scramble Process and
Illustration of the Scrammble Word Game
The process is simple and the game is huge fun. Alphabet cards are opened continuously (at measured pace depending on the players' skills), while every player has equal opportunity to make a new word or scramble an existing word into a new word with added alphabet (s). Hence, everyone is 100% engaged and fully focused on the game.
The following simple examples illustrate how the scramble process is played and why it is so much fun and challenge. Since the scramble process gives all players the opportunity to scramble all the time, the sequence of playing and scoring are not necessarily in order of the players. P1, p2, p3, p4 and p5 represents five players in these examples and they can score at any time:
Example one: Letters opened, C,R,A,D,E,L, and W, in that sequence, minimal 3-letter word was set for this game. Player keeps the word made and loses the word scrambled away by others.
Example two: Letters opened, R,T,A,B,T,A,I,O,S,N, and C, in that sequence, minimal 3-letter word. The letters are opened at a faster pace than previous example.
|Champion of Scramble Process
Score A Word: (Refer to Scrammble cards for alphabet distribution and point values on each card)
Anyone can form a word from the opened alphabets or steal a word or words from any opponent by adding an alphabet and scramble them into a new word. The only rule is that adding s, es, d, ed, n, or en just to change the tense or the plurality of the word without changing the meaning of the word is not allowed. The wild card can be any alphabet. It stays as the first designated alphabet through out the game unless it is agreed to be changeable during scrambling.
Counting the Word Points: (Refer to Scrammble cards for points assignment and bonus math operators)
Add up all the individual alphabet points and then apply the math operators to add additional points. For example, the word, CARD [ 4(C), 1(A, 2L), 2(R), 3(D) ] has 4+1+2+3= 10 basic word points, With bonus from A(2L), it has 4+1+2+3+4x2=18 word points. Another example, The word GA(Wild)E [ 6(G), 1(A, 3L), 0(Wi 2W) as M, 1(E) ] has 6+1+0+1= 8 basic word points. With bonus from A(3L) and the wild card, it has (6+1+0+1+6x3+8x2)=42 word points. The wild card is used as the alphabet M. It can stay as M throughout the game or allowed to be changed to another alphabet when the word 'GAME' is scrambled into another word by someone by adding one or more alphabets. Hence the smart players must take into account scoring and do the scramble process strategically.
Score Board Champion:
The highest Total-Word-Score of each game (or tournament) may be recorded on the Scrammble Word Score Board and the winners will be listed as champions. As new champions scoring higher Total-Word-Score occur, their names will be added to the score board in order of their rankings. These rankings may be published on the Scrammble web site according to a set of rules. The number of players, their age and the minimum length word allowed for the game played all must be recorded along with the Total-Word-Score. Generally, A Total-Word-Score of 500 in a game is close to the expert ranking. In a tournament, the longest word, highest word-score and highest game score achiever may be awarded with a prize.
